Nationality
To be eligible, a candidate must fall into one of the following categories:
- A Citizen of India
- A Subject of Nepal or Bhutan
- A Tibetan Refugee: Must have arrived in India before January 1, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India.
- A Person of Indian Origin (PIO): Migrated from designated countries with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Selection Process
The selection process consists of four stages:
- Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT): Shortlisted candidates equal to 8 times the vacancies will be called based on CBT merit.
- Document Verification (DV): Based on combined merit (70% weightage to CBT + 30% weightage to CBAT).
- Medical Examination (ME)

Stage 1: Computer Based Test (CBT)
The online single-stage CBT will be of objective type with multiple choices:

Negative Marking: 1/3rd mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
*Minimum qualifying marks: UR-40%, EWS-40%, OBC (NCL)-30%, SC-30%, ST-25%.
Stage 2: Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
- Test Design: Consists of multiple test batteries designed to evaluate concentration, situational reactions, and mental alertness.
- Language Medium: Questions and options are available only in English and Hindi.
- Negative Marking: There is NO negative marking in the CBAT stage.
- Qualifying Benchmark: Candidates must score a minimum T-Score of 42 marks in each individual test battery to qualify.
Stage 3: Document Verification (DV) & Final Merit Formula
Shortlisting for Document Verification is done on a strict 1:1 ratio matching the total vacancies.
Final Merit List Formula = (70% weightage of CBT Normalized Score) + (30% weightage of CBAT Score)
Stage 4: Medical Examination
- Mandatory Standard: A-2 Medical Category.
- Fitness Profile: Distant vision of 6/9 without glasses, normal color vision, night vision, and binocular vision.
- LASIK Alert: Candidates who have undergone LASIK or any other corrective eye surgeries are strictly ineligible.
