RRB Technician 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must fulfill all eligibility conditions prescribed in the official notification before applying for the recruitment.
Educational Qualification
✔ Technician Grade I Signal
Candidates must hold a degree or diploma in specific science or engineering fields. You need any one of the following qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.): In Physics, Electronics, Computer Science, Information Technology (IT), or Instrumentation.
- Engineering Diploma: A 3-year Diploma in Engineering in the above basic streams or their combinations.
- Engineering Degree: A B.E. or B.Tech in the above basic streams or their combinations.
✔ Technician Grade III
To be eligible for any Grade 3 post, you must satisfy either of these two categories:
1. Technical Trade Entry:
- Matriculation (10th) / SSLC pass along with an ITI certification from a recognized NCVT/SCVT institution in the relevant trade specific to the category (e.g., Fitter, Electrician, Wireman, Welder, Machinist, Diesel Mechanic, etc.).
- Alternative: Matriculation (10th) / SSLC plus a Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA) in the specified trade.
2. Direct 12th Pass Entry (Only for S&T - Category 14):
- Passed 10+2 (Standard 12) with Physics and Mathematics. No ITI certificate is required for this specific post.
